Vaughn's Tales from the Borderlands Wiki Page - Please note, this is woefully out of date, but I've got it here for posterity.
A few points about my Vaughn that may be of note:
-He was told about Jack by Rhys early on.
-Rhys forgave him for his deception.
-He got thrown at Vallory by Cassius and got stabbed when Fiona refused to comply.
Personality: Vaughn is a lot of personality in a pent up, compact package. Growing up, he was always the "tag-along" friend to Rhys's ringleader - the self-proclaimed awkward nerd with weight that got him picked on. He's changed a lot since those rough college days (including working out a great deal in his downtime to lose those pounds and work up a remarkable display of muscle definition), but the scars never really healed - so while he's pretty accomplished in his own right, he's quick to let one of his other friends take the spotlight. He's a worrywart, and so if someone else is willing (and in his opinion, capable) to step up and handle something that isn't numbers? He's gonna let them do it, and just...express his worry while they do.
Having a career with Hyperion - a company notorious for being staffed entirely by greedy assholes - has led to the deepening of a few character flaws in order to blend in with the nastier members of the company. His fuse can be a bit short when he's in a panic or things aren't going according to plan, which...would get him into bigger trouble, honestly, if he weren't so quick to backpedal in social situations. Strategic retreat is often just as much a factor as his anxiety, mind you - he has a great understanding of how to bend if the situation demands it, and if given enough time to organize his thoughts, he can be a pretty effective puppet-master. Manipulation is a valuable skill at Hyperion, and who better to know how to manipulate things than an accountant? He plays numbers like a harp, and had no problem at all moving ten million dollars right out of Hyperion's pocket in under ten seconds. He LIKES having that power over numbers, too...even if he doesn't get to take the money for himself. Like most of Hyperion, he loves money as a general rule - loves nice things and WANTS nice things - and has had a hand with Rhys in some awful schemes to get ahead.
Mind you, underneath all this corporate slime, someone close enough to him could easily get him to confess to losing sleep over the terrible things he's done. He's got a great heart, even if he's got to hide it at work; if you become friends with Vaughn, you have a friend for life. He's fiercely loyal, and he takes his 'bros' very seriously - if he gets that tight with you, he will be the guy holding you up when you're blind drunk and stumbling. He's got a steadfast heart and - despite working for one of the most cutthroat companies in his universe - if you are friends with him, he will have your back through thick and thin, and will throw himself fully into anything that feels important at the time.
In every day scenarios, Vaughn does a lot of blustering when confronted with things he doesn't like - but when something really dangerous happens, a switch flips and (seemingly against all odds) he becomes a man of action. If you had asked him about this a couple of years ago, he might have laughed, telling you that "seriously, dude, I'm just an accountant." But after all that's happened to him down on Pandora, he's come to find that he's just not the mild-mannered numbers guy he always thought he was. As he is now, he's not sure if he ever wants to return to his life of numbers, having fallen in love with a life of adventure instead. He has always wanted more than what he had...it's just that as time goes on, it seems like he wants to go and get it himself, instead of waiting his turn.
